About

CHIP AUSTIN HUNTER, Owner.

Born and raised on Long Island and in Westchester County, New York, Chip graduated from High School at the age of 15. After studying at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, he transferred to the University of Miami to study Psychology and Theater. In 1993, Chip moved to Los Angeles where he started a Mosaic Studio, producing some major public art installations as well as creating commercial and residential functional art pieces.

Chip conceived and developed "Art Share Los Angeles," a place for low-income people to receive life and employment skills while giving back to the community, which has developed into a large multi-level arts incubator serving the many communities of Los Angeles. His unique experience in wholesale and retail sales, infused with philanthropic and social service priorities, provided Chip with the necessary background and insight to create Art Share. Among his many accomplishments were raising 12 million dollars in 5 years and earning the recognition of President Bill Clinton with the President's Daily Point of Light Award.

After returning to New York to be with Family, Chip recognized a need for his particular style of mosaic artwork and opened Mosaica in Huntington Station, creating complex mixed-media mosaic designs for homes and businesses. After relocating to Patchogue, New York, Mosaica evolved into a more diverse company, serving as an architectural and designer fabrication resource.

It was the growth he experienced in multi-medium development that led Chip through Mosaica into founding and developing Krystal Glass Writing Boards, which quickly became a high volume business of its own. Within three years he sold Krystal and created C2 Resource Studio to continue manufacturing architectural and design elements and to focus on his true love of art. At C2, Chip has the pleasure of working with leading architects and designers from across the country and the ability to enhance their projects by drawing from a vast array of resources and elements from the most popular to the most rare and unique.

And to enhance post-construction or renovation esthetics for architects and designers, or for homes, hospitality and commercial properties, the fine art component at C2 showcases the many artists with whom Mr. Hunter has developed relationships over the years, and also promotes a growing list of emerging artists and craftsmen.

With the creativity and craftsmanship of C2, Chip and his dedicated staff offer an ever-expanding array of resources -- everything from single elements to finished components – that will perfectly enhance the artistry, the beauty and the durability of virtually any project.
